check your baggage at the door

maybe it's the new year or whatever, but ive been lately feeling the need for a change and a broadening of horizons. so upon the invite of mcvie, I went to a party last night, the social kind, not the chemical nor physical kind im usually used to.

the highlights:
lots of cute brainy nice guys!
good amount of booze--cant go wrong with Patron
totally blown away by the singers (im always jealous of people who can carry a tune)
the place is very nice--out of the way, intimate but not too out of the way

the lowlights:
i REALLY need practice in the fine art of socializing
a lot of insecurities came forth but thats another entry altogether
need to get out of my comfort zone

at the end of the party, i realized i really need to evolve and explore a bit further. having said that, its not going to be easy, my comfort zone is such a good place for me and it's easy to fall back into old ways. plus the fact that it has something to do with my set of insecurities, and i think that'll be the harder part of the game.

in any case, that's what new years are for.
